First founded in 1950 in Bursa / Turkey, Baykal today stands as a leading manufacturer and global supplier of sheet metalworking machinery. The company specializes in the production of hydraulic press brakes, hydraulic shears, CNC punching machines, CNC plasma cutting systems, mechanical guillotines, sheet folders, notching machines , and a range of spot and arc welding equipment.

Baykal employs a workforce of 600 people with highly trained and qualified machine operators and assembly technicians supported by a staff of 40 engineers. The machines offered by Baykal are designed, manufactured and assembled completely at Baykal’s three purpose-built plants in a CAD environment with extensive use of CNC machining and modern workshop equipment.

The Baykal machines are manufactured with the TSE and TSEK quality certificates issued by the Turkish Standards Institution. In addition, the company is accredited for the ISO 9001 Total Quality Certification issued by TÜV of Germany. Since 1995 Baykal has been building machines in conformity with the European Union’s CE regulations for safety, being the first Turkish machine-tool manufacturer certified eligible to bear the CE Mark on its products.

Baykal has been a major exporter of sheet metalworking equipment since 1975, and the machines it produces are sold in all the machine-tool consuming countries of the world under the company’s registered BAYKAL trademark. Presently Baykal is represented in over 60 countries worldwide, from the USA to New Zealand, through its appointed dealers. In the domestic Turkish market, Baykal sheet metalworking machines command a leading market share and position through the company’s direct sales organisation and country-wide dealer network.
