What is Hydraulic Press Brake ?

Baykal hydraulic press brake is a sheet metal bending machine that uses hydraulic cylinders to apply force to the punch and die. It is widely used in metal fabrication due to its high tonnage capacity, durability, and ability to handle thick materials.

How It Works?

CNC Control & Programming
  • The operator inputs bending parameters (angle, material type, thickness, and bend length) into the CNC controller.
  • The machine calculates the required force, bending sequence, and ram travel.
Hydraulic System Activation
  • When the bending cycle starts, hydraulic oil is pressurized by a pump and directed into the hydraulic cylinders.
  • The pressurized oil moves the pistons inside the cylinders, forcing the ram (upper beam) downward.
Metal Bending Process
  • The punch (upper tool) presses the sheet metal into the V-die (lower tool), bending it to the desired angle.
  • The pressure and speed of the movement are precisely controlled by proportional valves and CNC software.
Return Stroke & Next Cycle
  • Once the bending is complete, the hydraulic system reverses the oil flow, lifting the ram back to its starting position.
  • The process is repeated for additional bends.

Advantages of Hydraulic Press Brakes

  • High Bending Force – Can handle thicker and stronger metals compared to electric press brakes.
  • Consistent Pressure – Hydraulic force ensures uniform pressure across the bending area.
  • Versatile Applications – Suitable for various materials and complex bends.
  • Durability & Longevity – Designed for heavy-duty, long-term use.
  • Cost-Effective for Heavy Workloads – Lower initial investment than electric models with high tonnage capacity.
